GRADE-BASED LEARNING MAP

Grade 7 Learning Map

A 2025 MEB activity report states that Grade 7 books were prepared for 2026–27. Grade 7 programme headings are published on the official TYMM portal.

Programme status is checked by school yearLast checked: 27 July 2026

WHAT CHANGES IN THIS GRADE?

Subjects and developmental tasks move together

This page is not a list to memorise. It shows what a student should understand during the year, which learning habits to build and where to seek support. Subject headings are a learner-friendly summary of the official programme; school plans and textbook order may vary.

Turkish

lifelong development, communication, art, reading culture, rights and responsibilities

Mathematics

numbers and quantities, algebraic thinking, transformation, geometric quantities, shapes, statistics and probability

Science

the space age, force and energy, body systems, lenses, matter, static electricity and sustainable living

Social Studies

living together, the world, shared heritage, democracy, economy and technology

English

school, classroom, well-being, family, city, culture, nature and the future

Four cycles to use throughout the year

  1. Check prior knowledge: Use a short question or example before new learning.
  2. Explain and model: Make the reason visible through an example rather than stating a rule alone.
  3. Practise and make errors: Name the error type and retry the skill with a different example.
  4. Retrieve and connect: Close the book, explain from memory and connect learning to earlier work and daily life.

CONNECT THE SUBJECTS

Notice the same skill across subjects

Reading and explaining

Finding the main idea in language lessons supports selecting information in a maths problem and evidence in a science text. Ask the student to explain not only the answer but how it was reached.

Data and representation

Tables, graphs, maps, number lines and diagrams serve the same need across subjects: organising information and making relationships visible. Students should create representations as well as read them.

Asking questions

A good question identifies not only what is unknown but what evidence is needed. Follow “Why?” with “What observation, text or measurement could check this?”

Production and feedback

Writing, presentations, models, experiments and code are not finished after a first attempt. The student checks against criteria, selects feedback and produces a new version. This is a learning habit beyond grades.

WEEKLY MICRO PLAN

One strength, one gap, one curiosity question

At the end of the week, record one success, one concept to revisit and one question to explore next week. Do not build the plan only around deficits.

MICRO QUIZ

Grade-level check

1Is textbook order the same document as the official curriculum?

No. The curriculum provides the framework, a textbook offers one sequence, and the school plan describes local implementation.

2Why can a wrong answer be useful?

It reveals the error type and shows which concept or strategy needs support.

3Is a weekly plan only a homework list?

No. Sleep, preparation, review, asking questions, movement and rest are also part of it.

4How can we tell whether a concept has been learned?

The student can explain it, use it in a new example and correct an error.

5When should this page be revisited?

At the start of each term, when a marked difficulty appears and when official curriculum or exam information changes.

A five-day micro cycle

  1. Monday: transfer the week’s subjects and tasks into a visible plan.
  2. Tuesday: write one unclear point from a lesson and ask about it.
  3. Wednesday: explain one concept through a daily-life example.
  4. Thursday: revisit one error and classify its cause.
  5. Friday: record one strength, one review need and one curiosity question.

GRADE-SPECIFIC DEPTH

Track subjects through connected thinking skills

The main developmental task in Grade 7 Learning Map is evidence-based thinking, interest exploration and a strong base before the entrance-exam year. A 2025 MEB activity report states that Grade 7 books were prepared for 2026–27. Grade 7 programme headings are published on the official TYMM portal. This does not mean the school annual plan or textbook order will be identical; the official programme, school plan and assessment scope should be checked as separate documents.

Turkish

Focus for the year: lifelong development, communication, art, reading culture, rights and responsibilities. The student should not only recognise the concept but create an example, explain the method used and identify where an error occurred.

Short home practice: Once a week, ask for a daily-life example of one concept without looking at the book. Listen to the reasoning before correcting the answer.

EVIDENCE AND RETURN PLAN

Grade 7 Learning Map: turn information into a decision

Completing this page does not mean that every decision about grade 7 learning map is settled. To make the information usable, the learner should bring personal circumstances and current official evidence into one decision file. The plan below turns general guidance into observable evidence, uncertainty into a verification question and a first reading into a record that can be revisited.

Begin by examining “Subjects and developmental tasks move together” beside “Turkish”. For each heading, record one real situation, one unknown and one question to verify through a reliable source. Then test the suggestion under “Mathematics” on a small scale. Do not record only success or failure; note time used, support needed, the error encountered and what would change in a second attempt.

The third layer is comparison. Evaluate the focus “Science” against at least two alternatives using the same criteria. Criteria should not be the title, institution name or first impression alone; use everyday practice, accessibility, time and cost, safety, source freshness and the learner’s own view. Do not assign a guessed score to missing information. Mark it clearly as “to be verified” and name the responsible source.

For dates, conditions, fees, quotas, rules or application details that can change, do not rely only on the page’s review date. Open the primary official notice, record its date and scope, and preserve the earlier value in a version history when information changes. This makes it possible to see which decision relied on which evidence at a particular time.

The final step belongs to the learner. Answer: what did I understand, what remains doubtful, what support do I need and what is my next small action? Keep parent or teacher observations in a separate row rather than replacing the learner’s view. Reopen the same record after one week or one month and compare changed evidence with needs that remain.

Suggested return: a short check seven days after the first record; whenever an official change is published; and a full reread before an important decision.
